A motion detector is the linchpin of your security system, because it's the main device that detects when someone is in your home when they shouldn't be. A motion sensor uses infrared technology to detect movement in an area. If a sensor is tripped, a signal is sent to your security system's control panel, which connects to your monitoring center, alerting you and the monitoring center to a potential threat in your dwelling.
Detects movement within 45 feet. The detector has a 90 degree field of vision, giving you a large range of coverage when positioned in a corner. The sensor is shaped to stand on a shelf, stick to a wall, or fit in a corner for maximum room coverage. By default, the sensor is active only in "away" mode (so you won't trigger it when you are at home) or you can set the sensor to “arm in stay” arming it in both "stay" and "away" modes (for rooms that you want covered with a motion sensor while you're home).
